WHAT?

Made to measure wine tasting events. We find 7 wines, 2 hours work well.

WHERE?

Wherever needed in the 'greater' Bristol area. Relax, we'll come to you.

COST?

Usually £27.50 per head but could be more for some specialist events.

numbers?

We host tasting events for groups of 6 thirsty people and upwards.

It is our absolute pleasure to plan and host wine tasting events. These involve a guided tasting of 7 wines chosen specially for the event. The breakdown of these can vary depending on the chosen theme, but we always like to open with a sparkling wine by way of a loosener, or apératif if you prefer, followed by three whites and three reds. We use this formula because it strikes us as having a nice balance and allows us to take in an interesting range of styles. We aim for 2 hours, but we’re only on a tight timetable if you are. To be frank, over-running is likely. As far as group sizes go, a minimum booking is 6 people, up to a maximum of around 16 – we like to keep numbers small and the experience personal.

Whether it's a birthday, team-build, hen party, networking event, re-union, the christening of a pair of shoes, or the death of a pet, we will put together an event to suit the occasion, whether you’re in the mood to celebrate or have something more strategic in mind. We bring the event to you, be that in the comfort of your own home, the relative discomfort of a workplace, a holiday cottage, restaurant, or sports and social club. Wherever really. If you’re not sure about a venue, we have plenty of diverse venue ideas across the exciting city of Bristol.

As for the wines, it depends entirely on the type of event you have in mind. Our most popular is a  ‘Wine World Tour’ – we simply taste a flight of wines where the country of origin and grape variety is different in each glass. We can be guided by you, but an example could be something like France, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Argentina, New Zealand, Chile – nicely broken down in terms of ‘old world’ and ‘new world’ as well as hemispheres. Other suggestions are: An introduction to wine tasting; Wines from one particular country; Sparkling Wines; ‘New/Old world’ Wines; War of the wine ‘worlds’; Wine World Cup; A cure for chardonnay aversion… really, the possibilities are endless.

Whatever the theme, we’ll taste the wines one by one, keeping it upbeat and not too serious. We can provide as much information and conversation about them as fits the mood. This tends to vary hugely between groups. We'll then open the conversation up to find out which ones were liked or even disliked, and try to find out why. The opinions tend to get lively towards the end. Of course we have our own opinions which you’re welcome to, but we are much more interested in yours. Our goal is to inform, surprise, entertain, capture the imagination and send each person away having found at least 1 new wine they are excited by and will track down after the event.
